Introducing the Resolve Funding Agreement ...

The Resolve OPA 90 Vessel Response Plan Citation and Salvage & Marine Firefighting Funding Agreement (RFA) is designed to respect the traditional and fundamental relationships that have long-proven their value not only to casualty vessels, their underwriters, and voyage cargo interests, but also in protecting the public welfare that may be threatened as a consequence of a marine emergency.

Our funding agreement commits Resolve to respond quickly and effectively to bring an emergency to timely resolution. With specific regard to the Salvage & Marine Firefighting Requirements, the RFA directly addresses the US Coast Guard expectation that response operations not be delayed by contract negotiations. However, by virtue of both its unique wording and its inherent reliance on marine salvage precedent, it simultaneously encourages aggressive pursuit of operational success and binds all parties to the undertaking in the process.

Based on Lloyds Open Form with Scopic incorporated, the RFA employs the industry standard, internationally recognized Scopic tariff for equipment and expertise. Moreover, Resolve has opted to include a proprietary commitment to distinguish between calls for limited assistance and responses complicated by casualty circumstances demanding larger scale or lengthy efforts. This commitment is expressed in the body of the RFA.
